PONTIUS PILATE'S WIFE DREAM

Image
“While he was still seated on the bench, his wife sent him a message, ‘Have nothing to do with that righteous man. I suffered much in a dream today because of him.'” – Matthew 27:19 Mentioned in the Gospel’s only once, Pontius Pilate’s wife tells the Roman governor she had a dream the night before where she suffered because of Christ and to free Him. Extra-biblical tradition holds her to be named Procla or Claudia. What was the dream. Onepious tradition is that, in her dream, Claudia heard the voices of millions of people, in a thousand different languages, repeating in chorus the words, “under Pontius Pilate, under Pontius Pilate, under Pontius Pilate,  This are the same words that are repeated in the Nicene creed, a confession of the Catholic faith. It is believed that she later converted to Catholicism. What was Pilate reaction to the dream. As the apostle creed confesses. Jesus suffered, was crucified and died under Pontius Pilate, this shows that he did not listen to her...

Hail, O Star of The Sea

Image
HAIL STAR OF THE SEA. Ave Maris Stella (Latin for Hail, star of the sea) is a Marian hymn that was popular in the middle ages. The hymn presents the Virgin Mary as a merciful and loving mother and is also used as a prayer. During at Rome, a mob came to the house where St. Bridget lived. Their leader suggested burn her alive, terrified she prayed to our Lord that she may be able to flee to safety but asked her to stay: “It doesn’t matter if they plot your death, My power will break the malice of your enemies. If Mine crucified Me, it is because I permitted it.” Our blessed Mother added: Sing as a group the AVE MARIS STELLA and I’ll guard you from every danger. Even though its author is not known and attributed to many, its ownership is ours, we who face difficult times in our lives and even forced at times to flee. We that are forced to be drug addicts just to run from our troubled lives, we that are hunted with suicidal thoughts convincing us that things will never get bett...

THE MIRACULOUS WOUND.

Image
As a price for our sins Jesus Christ suffered greatly and in His suffering He had five wounds inflicted on His holy body. Most Catholics know this wounds but only a few are familiar with his shoulder wound. Saint Bernard of Clairvaux prayed and asked of Christ what was his greatest unknown suffering, and what wound suffered in His Passion was most painful. Christ replied to him: “I had on My Shoulder while I bore My Cross on the Way of Sorrows, a grievous Wound which was more painful than the others, and which is not recorded by men.” Our Lord had to walk for three miles from Pilate courtyard to his crucification point. The cross dug through His shoulder ripping flesh from bone. After this conversation of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux and our Lord, Christ Himself asked the faithful community keep a devotion to His shoulder wound and promised that those who do will receive God's grace.  “Honor this Wound with thy devotion, and I will grant thee whatsoever thou dost ask thro...

ONCE A PRIEST ALWAYS A PRIEST.

Image
Once a priest, always a priest “according to the Order of Melchizedek.” (Heb. 7:17). Priesthood is one of the seven sacraments in the Catholic Church and an important one as through priesthood the Church from Heaven receives the greatest of all sacraments, the Holy Eucharist, Christ Himself. At times this great men fall short of glory {For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).} and here is a story of one who had lost his legal status had a great audience with Pope John Paul II. One priest went to visit Rome. Among other activities he was to have an audience with the Pope.(Pope John Paul ll) On the appointed day, the priest had many hours free. And like a tourist, the priest decided to stop in a basilica to tour and to say a prayer. On the steps of the church were a number of beggars, something fairly common in Rome. On the steps, the priest thought that he recognized one of the beggars. After entering the sanctuary he knelt down to pray, and the...

Is Life Hard? Here Is What God Promises.

Image
The truth is at one point  life will be difficult. Things will happen to you that will make you feel as if God has forsaken you. But did you know that He has so many promises for you when life gets hard, and He is faithful to His promises. Here are a few promise for you that is walking on a broken road. You whose life seems getting worse everyday, promise from God not from man. ISAIAH 43:2 God knows that in this world you will face many trials which might easily destroy and crush you but He promise to be there for you and that is why He assured you through prophet Isaiah that "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Now God did not say if you pass through the rivers or if you walk through the fire, rather he said when you pass through meaning at some point in life you will pass through the ri...

All Souls Day.

Image
NOVEMBER 2 | 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 The Church is divided into three states, The Church Triumphant.  The term “church triumphant” underlines the truth that in the glory of heaven all human sin will have been transformed, death and suffering will be no more, and the glory of God will have triumphed over all the imperfections of human history. This are the Holy Souls already in Heaven or as we better know them, Saints . They can pray and intercede for the other two states but they need no one to pray for them. Some of the saints have specified dates within the Catholic church liturgical calendar where they are commemorated but all are remember on 1st November since not all in Heaven are know to us here on earth. Church Militant The church militant refers to the Church on earth. The term “militant” can suggest an antagonistic relationship between the Church and the world. Nevertheless, it refers to an authentic reality: that the Church on earth works to overcome the impe...

ALL SAINTS DAY SOLEMNITY

Image
𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 All Saints’ Day, which began most likely as All Martyrs’ Day , can be traced to the earliest Christians. The belief among the first Christians, which continues today, is that believers who died defending Christ were borne by angels to heaven and are face to face with the living God in the presence of the beatific vision. Today, All Saints’ Day is a solemnity and holy day of obligation on which the universal Church honors the martyrs, the saints, and the confessors, including all known and unknown, all who have gained the reward of heaven. As we remember Triumphant Church let us ask for their intercessions and prayers so that we may also be triumph. I have prepared the litany of the saints.
